Nuna CC Family Sportsmans Night a huge success

Belated report from Nuna Family Sportsmans Night on Fri Jan 6.

A great night was held at Nuna recently courtesy of the extreme generosity of ex Nuna-boy David Saker who is now the English cricket team bowling coach. Dave was our key guest speaker and was kind enough to bring test and 1-day players Steve Finn and Boyd Rankin with him who also spoke to the families present about their journey from junior cricket to playing test and 1-day international cricket. A very big thanks to Dave, Steve and Boyd for their time which was provided at no cost to the Club.

Not only were we lucky enough to have these great cricketers and coach at Nuna but, with big thanks to Club sponsor and stalwart Paul Bradley, we had a surprise special guest in AFL legend Dermot Brereton. Dermy also donated his time and spoke at length to the Nuna community about his time in the AFL, some of the big incidents he was involved in and some of the big players he played with and against. Another special thanks to Paul for organising and Dermie for his time. The Nuna community was delighted to see how good a bloke Dermie is and he spent quite a long time with us.

Here are a few (grainy) pics of the night.

All in all it was a great night and fund raiser for Nuna. Onwards and upwards !
