Nuna CC Trivia Night, a great success

Nunawading Cricket club hosted its annual Trivia night on Saturday 23 February. With 14 tables pre-booked and an expected attendance of 100+ keen trivia buffs it promised to be a terrific night. And, that it was!

There was plenty of atmosphere and hilarity all night as drinks were shared and brains were tested. The more drinks the more strain on the brain it seemed. One table even got into costume for the night by turning up wearing wigs. The side games between rounds were on show again and the ever popular ‘nearest to the bottle’ proved to be a favourite. Going back-to-back in the sculling competition was CJ who defeated Ryan in a close one

After a closely contested battle between all tables bar a couple (yes Ellis table, may need re-inforcements next year), the wise ol’ heads lead by Patty Mitchell & CO took it out by a point or two.

Throughout the night raffle tickets were being sold for the chance to choose from an impressive array of prizes, most notably a brand new surfboard. Paul Allen was the lucky winner of this however you wont see Paul tackling 2 metre monster waves, instead he will be passing it on to a family member, Well done Paul. Plenty of other prizes were drawn including a cricket bat signed by the Victorian bushrangers and a power tool set, and you could be forgiven for being upset if you weren’t lucky enough to get one given the amount of prizes we had.

This continues to be the main fund-raiser at the club and thank you to everyone who participated in the event.

Special mentions must be given to the people involved in getting the night together and running the event.

Thanks to Connie and Corey for putting on a great event and to Darren Deal, Russell Peters, Athletes Foot Forest Hill, The Tyre Factory Dandenong, Lordy, C-Mac, Rod Jones, Cowelly, Ryan, Paul, Stu and others for donating prizes. Thanks to Cam and Lee for helping throughout the day/night by setting up the room and assisting with the running of the trivia. Thanks to Monty and Patty, with the help of Stu, Corey and Lordy for running the bar. This saw a lot of action as it always does.

The biggest thanks to Connie, who once again delivered a great trivia night! I’m sure we are all looking forward to next year’s event already.
